Peninsula Animal Dermatology (PAD), Inc. was founded by Dr. Boyanowski in 1998. PAD is a completely computerized practice which enables us to quickly access your records, recall medications and tests instantly, and integrate digital images. Your veterinarian receives a letter summarizing your visit and therapeutic plan -- often the very same day of your visit.

Dr. Kim Boyanowski

Dr. Boyanowski is the owner of Peninsula Animal Dermatology, Inc. She started the practice in 1998 in Redwood City, CA. Dr. Boyanowski received her D.V.M. from Tufts University in 1995, completed an internship in general medicine and surgery from the Animal Medical Center in New York City in 1996, and completed her dermatology residency at U.C. Davis in 1998. She received her board certification in veterinary dermatology in 1998. She has been the past president of the Peninsula Veterinary Medical Association, Research Foundation Chairperson of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology, and a guest speaker throughout the United States. In addition to practicing dermatology and running her practice she is active in various non-profit organizations and her son's school. She has two West Highland White Terriers, enjoys traveling and spending time with family.

Dr. Laura Sickafoose

Education:

Dr. Sickafoose attended veterinary school at U.C. Davis where she received an award for outstanding aptitude in dermatology as well as numerous scholarships for academic excellence. She was valedictorian of her graduating class. She went on to complete an internship in general medicine and surgery from San Francisco Veterinary Specialists. She completed her dermatology residency at Louisiana State University and is board certified in veterinary dermatology. While at LSU she conducted a clinical trial on treatment of yeast dermatitis, which won a resident research award. Although she enjoys all areas of veterinary dermatology, she has a special interest in feline dermatology and infectious diseases. Outside of dermatology her interests include running, hiking with her dogs, and camping. She has a Chihuahua mix, a Pug (adopted from Pug Rescue of Sacramento with food allergy and atopic dermatitis) and a large orange tabby cat (with atopic dermatitis).

Deb Berwick is a registered veterinary technician. She joined the team in 1999. She provides skilled nursing care and is the coordinator of allergen immunotherapy. She is responsible for ordering, maintaining and compounding immunotherapy and allergy tests.

Crystal Chandler is a registered veterinary technician (RVT). She joined the team in 2010. She provides skilled nursing care and client education. In addition to working at PAD, she also has a private pet sitting and home veterinary nursing care business.

Sara Velez is a veterinary technician. She joined the team in 2007. She provides skilled nursing care and assists in client education.

Aida Hess is a veterinary receptionist. She joined our team in 2009.
